Distance Learning, could this be the future of training & development?

With a rise in company turnover rates and the high price of university fees, employers are increasingly scared to spend money training employees that could just leave, but employees want/need training for their roles. This begs the question, can distance learning bridge the gap between employers and employees.

A research project by Middlesex University’s Institute for work based learning found that 74% of UK workers felt they were not reaching their potential and wished they had received more job training. This could not be truer for solicitors. Many solicitors need to get specialised and up to speed in a specific area of law; this is usually done by gaining an extra qualification on top of their university degree that tends to be broader.

In another national survey, 70% of the respondents (Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Millennials) indicated that job-related training and development opportunities influenced their decision to stay at their job.

It’s not just companies who can take advantage of this mode of learning. With its flexible nature and ability to allow professionals to gain a degree whilst in full time employment, distance learning opens many doors for professionals to gain an extra degree or training. A growing number of professionals are doing distance learning courses on their own accord and using it to further their career.

We had a number of enquiries regarding our services after the event and we feel our attendance there was important to our overall brand exposure.
